Job summary

ALTEN Ltd - UK is seeking an experienced Commissioning Capability Engineer to lead the development and implementation of commissioning processes for complex projects within the Nuclear Sector in Manchester. You will ensure rules, tools, and methods are embedded during the detailed design stage, working closely with the design team.

Qualifications

• Proven commissioning experience in nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, or other heavily regulated industries.
• Ability to establish commissioning strategy and write commissioning plans at the detailed design stage.
• Experience delivering large, complex programmes of work.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and export control considerations.
• Ability to provide constructive guidance to design teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commissioning capability function, establishing robust processes, tools, and guidance.
• Engage with design teams, providing feedback, 'dos and don'ts', and best-practice guidelines for commissioning activities.
• Develop and maintain commissioning assessment processes.
• Apply SQEP (Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person) principles to commissioning guidance and oversight.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of commissioning processes and capability development.
• Ensure compliance with export control and DOE 810 nationality restrictions.
• Support the execution of large, complex programmes of work within a regulated environment.
