Nuclear Careers Coordinator Vacancy

Cogent Skills has an exciting opportunity for a Nuclear Careers Coordinator. This role will support the delivery of the Nuclear Sponsorship Scheme (NSS) and will ensure that plans and controls are in place, progress is tracked, milestones are achieved, and management processes and systems are adhered to.

  • Salary up to £31,000 dependent on experience

Key Accountabilities

  1. Responsible for the day-to-day tracking of the outcomes.
  2. Issue and analyse progress reports, update plans, and raise concerns with colleagues to overcome barriers, manage risks, and resolve issues.
  3. Work with and support applicants to the nuclear sponsorship scheme, providing information, customer service, and updates on applications.
  4. Provide excellent customer service and a supportive approach to questions or queries from nuclear employers.
  5. Liaise with delivery team members to track and report on progress and ensure delivery of specific milestones/deliverables set out in the contract.
  6. Support the delivery team in their daily activities, keeping key stakeholders informed about progress.
  7. Schedule, attend, and take notes for meetings, preparing agendas and paperwork as directed by the line manager and Industry Lead.
  8. Ensure controls are utilized in accordance with programme requirements.
  9. Assist with finance and contracts administration as agreed with the line manager.
  10. Keep the team informed of the status against the delivery plan and raise concerns affecting delivery.
  11. Prepare performance reports, presenting information clearly to support decision-making.
  12. Carry out organisational tasks according to deadlines.
  13. Maintain the integrity of the delivery plan, keeping it updated in real-time.
  14. Ensure all key documents are version-controlled and filed appropriately.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Effective coordination of key stakeholders, ensuring timely and quality inputs.
  • Efficient management of time and turnaround of key deliverables according to contract milestones.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Proven support role experience.
  • Good understanding of management methodologies.
  • Experience working with complex and multiple stakeholders and customers, with a strong emphasis on customer service.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at C or grade 5.
  • Experience in a related field.
  • Willingness to work towards or hold an entry qualification in administration.
