Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience required.

Job description

Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Cambridgeshire.

Multiple positions are available, and ongoing hiring is in place to meet the diverse needs we support.

We aim to transform the quality of education for young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).

We are seeking SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Cambridgeshire.

At TargetedProvision, our mission is to elevate the standard of educational support for vulnerable young people in the UK. We support our team with SEN / SEND Support Specialists to ensure every placement is successful for the young person and you.

This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with various learning needs, using creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed approaches to significantly improve their educational journey.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role:
  • Providing Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other additional needs referred by local authorities and schools
  • Supporting their educational and social-emotional development through flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities:
  • Planning engaging and needs-based sessions
  • Delivering holistic sessions to meet individual needs and promote progress
  • Completing lesson reports and providing feedback on progress
SEN / SEND Tutor requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience
  • Experience working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other additional needs
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
  • Enhanced DBS (assistance available if needed)
  • Two professional references
  • Right to work in the UK

It is essential to promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of children and young people and adhere to safeguarding policies at all times.

SEN / SEND Tutor employment status:
  • Engagement as a Worker for short-term assignments
  • Paid via PAYE through a contract for service
  • No fixed workload or expenses coverage
  • Insurance covers your work with us
  • Not a self-employed position
