Job description

We are seeking an Executive Producer for National Theatre Productions.

5/ marks the beginning of an exciting new era at the National Theatre, an organization with a significant platform to create change for audiences and in the world. The NTP Executive Producer will lead, support, and deliver an exciting future for all main stage productions beyond the Southbank stages for the National Theatre.

The core responsibility is to strategize and identify opportunities for NT productions to tour and transfer both nationally and internationally, with a particular focus on New York and Broadway, in close consultation with the Executive Director and NTP's Managing Director.

The NTP Executive Producer will oversee landing and executive producing productions to ensure NTP contributes positively to the National Theatre both financially and reputationally.

Working with the NTP Managing Director and a dedicated, passionate team, the NTP Executive Producer will source and manage external companies delivering NT productions beyond the Southbank, whether in the West End, on tour, or internationally. Alternatively, for strategic productions, the Executive Producer will assemble a small, dedicated internal team to deliver the key production.

The NTP Executive Producer will develop sector relationships to advocate for NT productions nationally and internationally, with experience in New York, LA, and San Francisco being particularly relevant.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Senior leadership experience in commercial theatre in the West End, UK, Broadway, or the US.
  • Proven success in negotiations and managing a slate of credible work.
  • Experience in raising investment and managing investor relations.
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors.
  • Established relationships with Commercial Producers and General Managers in the UK and US.
