Job Description:

Job Purpose:

The Technical Lead reports functionally to the Engineering Manager and is the technical expert supporting NSSS Auxiliary Piping scope, including high integrity piping, supports, and instrumentation within various plant buildings. They support the full off-site delivery lifecycle, ensuring delivery to plan, mitigating risks, and supporting design review and acceptance processes under Nuclear Services oversight.

The role ensures engineering delivery aligns with safety, quality, and cost parameters, supporting the transfer of engineering responsibilities to the Joint Design Office (JDO) and maintaining project schedule adherence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage engineering issues, technical queries, and design changes across the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with all contributing parties to ensure timely and accurate information exchange.
  • Support resolution of technical topics related to valves, stress corrosion cracking, painting, thermal fatigue, and other topics.
  • Interface with stakeholders such as Engineering Managers, Responsible Designers, Nuclear Services, Fabricators, JDO, and Quality teams to ensure seamless project execution.

Qualifications:

  • Degree and chartered status in engineering or related field.
  • Experience in piping and instrumentation design, preferably in nuclear environments.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental standards, including CDM Regulations.

Location:

The base location is the EDF Site Delivery Centre in Bridgwater. The role requires strong planning, organization, and leadership skills to manage multiple work streams and drive project success.
