Job description

Overview

NHS Grampian Finance Directorate — Financial Accountant (Agenda for Change Band 7 £50,861 - £59,159). Temporary Fixed Term 12 Months. Based at Summerfield House, Aberdeen and Home as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 13 staff in the delivery of core financial services processes, reporting to the Head of Financial Services and Accounting.
• Responsibility for integrated accounts payable and accounts receivable service.
• Ledger account maintenance and reconciliation.
• VAT advice and compliance, financial monitoring/performance reporting and preparation of accounts to trial balance.
• Statutory annual accounts/financial information presentation for publication.

Qualifications and requirements

• CCAB qualified accountant with strong technical accounting skills.
• Experience of staff management in a busy financial environment.
• Sound knowledge of International Accounting Standards.
• Relevant legislation, policies and procedures governing best practice in financial governance and account preparation.
• Computer literate, good communication and presentation skills, self-motivated with a flexible approach.
