NHS GRAMPIAN FINANCE DIRECTORATE

Financial Accountant

Agenda for Change Band 7 (£50,861 - £59,159)

Temporary – Fixed Term 12 Months

Based at Summerfield House, Aberdeen and Home as appropriate.

We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced individual to the role of Financial Accountant to join the Finance Department in NHS Grampian. Reporting to the Head of Financial Services and Accounting the post holder will lead a team of 13 staff in the delivery of a number of core financial services processes.

The main duties will include:

  • Responsibility for integrated accounts payable and accounts receivable service.
  • Ledger account maintenance and reconciliation.
  • VAT advice and compliance, financial monitoring/ performance reporting and preparation of accounts to trial balance.
  • Statutory annual accounts/financial information presentation for publication.

The successful candidate will be a CCAB qualified accountant with strong technical accounting skills. Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience of staff management in a busy financial environment and a sound knowledge of International Accounting Standards. Relevant legislation, policies and procedures governing best practice in financial governance and account preparation.

In addition, applicants will be computer literate, possess good communication and presentation skills and be self-motivated with a flexible approach to working on their own initiative.
