Healthcare Support Worker – Band 3

Hours: 33.75 per week

Location: Coronary Care Unit, Ward 106a, Level 4, Emergency Care Centre, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic part-time Healthcare Support Worker to join our team in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU), located within the Emergency Care Centre at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

CCU provides specialist Level 2 critical care for cardiac patients 24/7, with a total of 10 beds. The successful candidate will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, compassionate care to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nursing staff.
  • Assist with patient transfers between CCU and other clinical areas, including step‑down to Ward 109.
  • Support general housekeeping duties and manage stock replenishment.
  • Contribute to a safe, clean, and organised clinical environment.
Essential Skills & Attributes
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Confidence in using IT systems.
  • A flexible approach to shift patterns and service needs, including short‑notice changes.
  • A commitment to integrated and partnership working across the wider cardiology service.
  • Previous experience within the NHS as a Healthcare Support Worker.
