Job description

NHS Grampian has two posts available for the position of Switchboard Operator to handle calls and respond to requests in the busy central switchboard at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, as part of the ICT Services, Customer Services team.

The posts are temporary 23 month contracts, and will require shift work to cover the 24 hour; 365 Days a year operation of the Switchboard Service. The post requires excellent communication skills, both written and oral and will deal with handling calls to the Switchboard from both staff and the public, responding to bleep requests, responding to emergency calls, monitoring alarms and providing advice and support on "telephony" services to NHS employees and the Public. Full training will be given to the successful applicants but knowledge of NHS Grampian would be an advantage. The post is based at the Communications Centre at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
