Datix / Quality Informatics Facilitator Advert

Location: Summerfield House, Aberdeen Contract Type: Permanent | Full-Time (37 hours/week) Salary: Band 5

Job Purpose

This role exists to support NHS Grampian’s commitment to delivering safe, effective, and person-centred care through the effective use of Quality Informatics systems. These systems are used widely across the organisation, and the post holder will play a key role in supporting users, delivering training, and ensuring systems are maintained and developed in line with organisational needs.

About The Role

As a Quality Informatics Facilitator, you will be a key member of the Quality Informatics Team, acting as the first point of contact for staff using systems such as Datix. You will provide expert advice, resolve technical and user issues, and escalate more complex problems when necessary. You will also design and deliver training programmes, support system upgrades, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that enhance system use and data quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for system users, providing advice and resolving issues.
  • Deliver tailored training sessions across NHS Grampian, adapting content to suit different audiences.
  • Maintain and configure Quality Informatics systems, including user account management and permissions.
  • Support the production of reports and data analysis to inform internal and external reviews.
  • Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to identify system improvements and implement upgrades.
  • Respond to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and ensure data compliance.
  • Participate in audits, system testing, and evaluation of training effectiveness.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is ideally -

  • Technically skilled with strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, and ideally experience with Datix or similar systems.
  • A confident communicator able to deliver training, explain complex information clearly, and build strong working relationships.
  • Organised and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experienced in system administration with a background in supporting or managing IT systems and a good understanding of data protection and confidentiality.
  • Educated to HND level or equivalent with additional training or experience to degree level. A formal training qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel across NHS Grampian sites as required.
  • Comfortable handling sensitive or confidential information.
