Research Nurse Haematology Cancer Trials
Fixed – 2 years
Band 5
With the clinical research portfolio in NHS Grampian continuing to expand, we are looking for a nursing professional to be part of an exciting and challenging research post, which will be based in the Haematology Department within the Anchor Unit at ARI. This would be a 2 year fixed post and could be suitable as a secondment. It would allow you to develop the research nurse skills required to deliver exceptional clinical research care to patients involved in Haematology clinical research studies. You will be part of a well established team of research nurses who will assist with training and mentoring.
You will be involved in the delivery of direct/indirect care and treatments of those participating in research trials. This will include trial set up processes, recruitment, monitoring of study patients, collection of accurate data and liaising with data monitors. The main duties/responsibilities of the post will be in under the direction of the Haematologists with additional guidance from the research team and senior Oncology/ Haematology research nurse.
Previous experience in haematology would be advantageous. However, consideration will be given to the right calibre of candidate with little or no previous experience, with a keen willingness to learn. The incumbent will require excellent communication skills, the ability to work flexibly in response to study challenges and be able to manage a caseload appropriately to the highest standard expected within clinical research.
