Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our new and dynamic NHS Prison Nursing team.

We are rebuilding a robust team with opportunities to develop a strong nursing service within the ever-changing prison environment.

This role involves delivering routine clinics within the Health Centre and Residential Prison Halls, collaborating with the wider multidisciplinary health team and the Scottish Prison Service.

Applicants should have experience working in a hospital or primary care setting with effective communication skills. The role requires autonomy and teamwork within an MDT, offering rewarding challenges and development opportunities.

The prison environment is busy and demanding, both emotionally and physically. Candidates must be able to cope with these demands.

This is a shift-based position, working 10.5-hour days from 06:30-18:00 and 09:45-21:30, Monday to Sunday, with no night shifts.
