We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Mental Health Nurse to join our new and dynamic NHS Prison Nursing team.
We are rebuilding a robust team with opportunities to develop a strong nursing service within the evolving prison environment.
This role involves delivering routine clinics within the Health Centre and Residential Prison Halls, collaborating with the multidisciplinary health team and the Scottish Prison Service.
Applicants should have experience working in a hospital or primary care setting and possess effective written and verbal communication skills. The role requires autonomy as well as teamwork within an MDT, with rewarding challenges and development opportunities.
The prison environment is busy and demanding, both emotionally and physically. Candidates must be able to cope with these demands.
The position involves shift work, with 10.5-hour shifts from 06:30 to 18:00 and 09:45 to 21:30, Monday to Sunday. No night shifts are included.
An attractive relocation allowance of up to £8,000 may be available for successful candidates.
