It also involves assisting clients after major incidents, guiding them through investigations by regulatory bodies like the police and HSE. Occasionally, the role may include criminal prosecutions related to road traffic fatalities. While some court experience is beneficial, full training will be provided as this is a specialist role.

The successful candidate will work with Mark Donaldson, recognized for his expertise in this area (Chambers band one, Legal 500 leading individual). Our clients include household names, local authorities, and offshore operators.

We value strong teamwork and collaboration, with a high level of ownership of cases.

  • A highly determined individual capable of adapting within a demanding, fast-paced team. Initiative and leadership skills are essential. The role involves client interaction and occasional travel within Scotland.
  • An interest in health and safety matters.
  • Enjoyment of tackling complex legal issues and expanding knowledge.
  • Focus on delivering professional client service.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Work collaboratively within the team, primarily representing insurance companies and self-insured organizations.
  • Handle a varied caseload and appear regularly in the Sheriff Court.
  • Conduct investigations, including witness statements.
  • Identify information needs and secure necessary evidence.
  • Meet reporting and reserving requirements for clients.
  • Manage files, including reports and correspondence.
  • Attend and appear in court.
  • Support partners in servicing existing clients, developing new business, and maintaining client relationships through technical excellence and innovation.
  • Draft legal documents and provide client advice.
  • Contribute to marketing and business development activities within the team and the wider Clyde & Co casualty group.

We offer a supportive environment with opportunities for learning and development to support your career progression.
