Job summary

Law Staff Legal Recruitment is seeking an NQ Criminal Defence Solicitor for a Legal 500 client in Warrington. You will join a growing Criminal Law team handling a varied caseload, with exposure to advocacy and client representation, in a supportive, collaborative environment with hybrid working.

You will manage cases for legally aided and privately funded clients, undertake Magistrates' Court advocacy, and progress Crown Court work from instruction to conclusion.

Qualifications

• NQ Criminal Defence Solicitor with training in criminal law.
• Experience handling both legally aided and privately funded cases.
• Willingness to work in a collaborative, supportive team.
• Exposure to advocacy and client representation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Managing a diverse caseload of criminal matters for legally aided and privately funded clients
• Undertaking advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court
• Handling and progressing Crown Court cases from instruction to conclusion
• Attending court hearings and representing clients at police stations
• Liaising effectively with colleagues, clients, courts, and third parties
• Progressing cases proactively and efficiently
• Preparing clear, accurate documentation and delivering sound legal advice
• Supporting senior lawyers and contributing to team objectives
• Maintaining compliance with regulatory and quality standards

Our Legal 500 client is seeking NQ Criminal Defence Solicitor to expand Criminal Law team. You’ll be part of a growing team, handling a varied caseload within a supportive, collaborative environment and exposure to advocacy and client representation.
