Job summary

Haven is seeking a Lifeguard to safeguard swimmers and provide a safe, enjoyable water experience for guests at our locations in Pwllheli. The role requires vigilance, quick response to emergencies, and a friendly, service-oriented approach.

On-site accommodation is available subject to terms, and pay is hourly with flexible shifts. You will monitor areas, enforce rules, perform safety checks, and assist guests with inquiries while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining pool area

Qualifications

• Current NPLQ certification is required.
• Proficient in swimming with excellent observation and decision-making skills.
• Ability to respond quickly in emergencies and maintain a friendly, approachable attitude.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for safeguarding swimmers, ensuring they have a safe and enjoyable time in the water. If you have sharp observation skills, the ability to respond swiftly to emergencies, and a friendly, approachable attitude, this role is perfect for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor swimming areas to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of all.
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, providing first aid and rescue as needed.
• Enforce facility rules and regulations to promote a safe and enjoyable environment.
• Conduct regular safety inspections of pool equipment and facilities.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pool area.
• Provide excellent customer service and assist guests with inquiries and concerns.

Requirements

• Current NPLQ certification (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification).
• Proficient in swimming.
• Excellent observation and decision-making skills.
• Ability to maintain focus and act quickly in emergency situations.
• Friendly and approachable attitude with good communication skills.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

This opportunity requires the new candidate to undergo, and satisfactorily complete, an Enhanced DBS check prior to starting work.
