Job summary

Thompson Aero Seating seeks Manufacturing Engineers to lead NPI and line support, delivering world-class products from concept to production. You will manage BoMs, develop and optimise NPI processes, and provide line support to resolve issues and drive improvements.

Responsibilities include DFMA collaboration, cross-functional teamwork, data-driven problem solving, and capital equipment justification, while upholding health and safety across operations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Manufacturing/Engineering (or equivalent)
• 1–4 years’ experience in a similar environment (heavy engineering, automotive, aerospace)
• Hands-on delivery of NPI from concept to production or serial line support
• Strong problem-solving with root-cause analysis and corrective actions
• Clear communication and cross-functional collaboration across engineering, quality, and programme teams
• Lean Manufacturing knowledge to drive efficiency and quality
• Familiarity with Airbus and/or Boeing systems and processes
• Membership of a relevant professional body

Responsibilities

• Design, validate, and implement production systems to deliver NPI or serial products on time and within budget
• Lead lean initiatives to improve quality and process efficiency
• Collaborate on DFMA to optimise product and process integration
• Work cross-functionally to hit milestones and delivery targets
• Analyze trends and implement corrective actions across all NPI phases or serial products
• Maintain engineering documentation for compliance and traceability
• Perform root cause analysis and drive solutions to resolve issues
• Identify and justify capital equipment investments
• Ensure health and safety standards are met across operations
• Prepare detailed reports and communicate with stakeholders
