NPI Engineer

Specification

We are recruiting for an NPI Engineer (New Product Introduction) to join an established manufacturing business based in or around South Korea. The NPI Engineer will create long-term relationships with customers, ensuring expectations are met by improving efficiency with strong skills in service delivery. This role will support new product implementation and the launch of new projects for a customer and their suppliers, focusing on NPI, Capacity, Producibility, Problem solving, and Lean processes.

Responsibilities

  1. Act as primary liaison on NPI for the customer and their suppliers.
  2. Manage multiple projects simultaneously with a global project team.
  3. Assist in the effective implementation and distribution of new products for suppliers, handling launch aspects, and verifying quality control compliance.
  4. Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, quality assurance, and third parties.
  5. Work closely with suppliers' NPI activities to define, develop, and launch new or improved products.
  6. Analyze and recommend improvements to production processes for cost reduction and quality enhancement.
  7. Set overall operational NPI plans, KPIs, track progress, manage risks, and report.
  8. Provide project management, technical, and quality leadership in product analytics.
  9. Develop manufacturing plans covering raw and finished goods, ramp-up, capacity, and roadmaps.
  10. Support NPI methodologies and processes within the operation matrix for smooth product introduction.
  11. Ensure processes comply with policies, conduct audits, and recommend safety, quality, cost, waste reduction, and efficiency improvements.
  12. Ensure manufacturing readiness of new product materials.
  13. Identify risks and bottlenecks, and provide solutions using manufacturing methods.
  14. Assist the European NPI manager and adapt to changing business needs.

  • NPI and Lean/Continuous Improvement (Kaizen, SMED, Kanban, 5S)
  • Technical drawing comprehension
  • Experience with PPAP, APQP or similar quality operations
  • Ability to manage quality aspects of NPI and prototypes
  • Manufacturing methods and layout optimization
  • Flexible working hours, potential travel, valid driver's license, and passport
