Job description

Job Title: Research & Development Chef

Join the Pilgrims Europe Product & Innovation team at our Grantham site. We are seeking a passionate Research & Development Chef to help us become a world-class food company.

Key Responsibilities include:

  1. Develop recipes and manage recipe costs using Recipe Professor.
  2. Support packaging development and costs via the Central Innovation Manager.
  3. Prepare product costings aligned with MSP targets, considering commercial and manufacturing implications.
  4. Provide product samples for meetings.
  5. Upload costing request forms to the PC&I Portal.
  6. Stay updated on food trends to influence future NPD projects.
  7. Maintain the NPD kitchen to a Gold Standard and manage chemicals using the digital COSHH system.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams during product development and gate stages.
  9. Work with PC&I and Commercial teams to ensure products are commercially viable and submit costing files timely.
  10. Build and maintain relationships with retailers, aligning with Pilgrims Europe's Vision and Values.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Chef or in a similar food role.
  • Supply chain experience, including sourcing ingredients and produce.
  • Previous experience in the food industry.
  • Relevant food industry qualifications or experience.
  • Valid UK driving license.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about culinary arts, with hospitality experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask.
