Line Pilot
National Police Air Service

Join the National Police Air Service (NPAS) as a helicopter pilot to provide air support across England and Wales, helping save lives and keep communities safe. Positions available at bases including Hawarden, Lippitts Hill, North Weald, Redhill, St Athan, and Newcastle.
NPAS pilots conduct over 20,000 tasks annually, supporting police operations such as vehicle pursuits, searches, firearms support, and large public event coverage. Pilots also land to assist in emergencies.
Benefits include a fixed roster, 19 days annual leave, additional leave for holidays and service, pension scheme, transfer opportunities, medical expenses coverage, insurance, and death benefits.
Requirements include a UK Commercial Pilot’s Licence (Helicopter), RT Licence, Class 1 Medical, at least 1,500 hours of flying (including night and overland experience), UK residency for the last 3 years, and a full UK driving license. Applicants must pass a simulator and interview, with selection dates in August 2024, aiming for start dates in November 2024 or January 2025.
