Job summary

Day services health care assistant role to work with clients who have severe learning disabilities and complex physical health needs. The staff within the service are employed by Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking to recruit a caring, enthusiastic, and compassionate individual to join the service as a Health Care Assistant/trainee.

The successful applicant will have recent experience within a care role and will understand the needs of individuals with learning disabilities. You will have excellent communication skills, be calm, confident, and resilient in your approach. You will be able to form therapeutic relationships with individuals with complex learning disabilities and ensure that you work as an advocate at all times, ensuring individuals’ voices are heard.

Main duties of the job
  • You will join a team of highly skilled and committed individuals ensuring that person-centred and holistic care is provided at all times.
  • We provide a person-centred activity plan which incorporates activities within the local community such as walks, swimming, theatre/cinema visits, restaurants, and theme parks.
  • We are looking to recruit an individual who is able to drive and willing to undertake further training to enable them to drive the unit minibus, thus supporting the individuals on social outings and appointments.
