About the Job:

Undertake new patient and NHS health checks, including baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, height, weight, waist circumference, and Body Mass Index. Measure legs for compression hosiery and record findings accurately.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate routine and 24-hour blood pressure monitoring.
  • Advise patients accordingly.
  • Undertake wound care, dressings, and other clinical tasks as required.
  • Support the practice nurse with chronic disease clinics and health promotion programmes.
  • Act as a chaperone as required.
  • Administer vaccinations such as flu, shingles, pneumococcal, and B12 injections.
  • Ensure specimens are recorded and prepared for transportation.
  • Maintain clinical rooms, ensuring they are stocked and prepared for each session.
  • Clean fridges routinely in accordance with guidelines.
  • Remove clinical waste and replace sharps bins following policies.
  • Deliver opportunistic health promotion when appropriate.
  • Manage laboratory samples requested by the clinical team.
  • Monitor and record vaccine/cold chain storage.
  • Prepare environments and equipment before, during, and after patient care interventions such as venepuncture, wound care, ABPM, ECGs, urinalysis, blood pressure, blood glucose, and urine dips.
