About the Job:

To support the Health Care Assistant and Nurse team by supervising the safe deployment of staff and coordinating clinics through excellent communication skills, liaising with multidisciplinary teams. To assist inpatient and day case patients and radiologists during interventional ultrasound guidance procedures such as liver biopsy, ascitic drainage, etc. To assist radiologists and advanced practitioner radiographers during fluoroscopy procedures, ensuring smooth operation of the lists, patient care and preparation, liaison with wards, room setup, and post-procedure cleaning.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Correctly identifying and preparing patients for invasive procedures.
  2. Performing patient safety checks before procedures, including blood results, fasting status, baseline observations, clotting profiles, and relevant medical history.
  3. Escalating anomalies promptly to radiologists or registered nurses for correction or rescheduling.
  4. Monitoring and recording vital signs post-procedure, documenting findings, and reporting anomalies.
  5. Providing direct nursing care to recovering patients, assisting with activities such as eating, toileting, dressing, and mobility.
  6. Communicating effectively with patients and relatives, explaining procedures, and providing post-discharge advice.
