The Integrated Care System in Southend-on-Sea is seeking an experienced Nova EPR Programme Manager to oversee a groundbreaking digital project for Acute, Mental Health, and Community services. The role involves managing complex workstreams, ensuring project documentation adherence, and coordinating with Oracle Health, all within a supportive environment aimed at improving NHS services and patient care.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience delivering projects in the NHS.
  • Project management experience including the development and management of project documentation.
  • Previous experience working with Oracle Health.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Deputy Programme Director to manage workstreams, projects, and functions as part of the EPR Programme.
  • Be responsible for the Programme Management activities within the Nova programme using MSP methodology.
  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of major digital projects and associated systems across the hospital using PRINCE2 methodology.
  • Lead the delivery of the EPR programme of work including coordinating internal resources.
  • Identify and agree dependencies and programme timescales, prioritizing tasks and optimizing resources.
  • Development of necessary documents such as Project Initiation Document and detailed requirements specifications.
  • Ensure sound project and programme governance by identifying, appraising, mitigating, and managing risks and issues.
  • Produce clear visual materials and documentation for reports and presentations.

Nova EPR Programme Manager

EPUT and MSEFT are embarking on a UK first of type EPR procurement for a single EPR that spans Acute, Mental Health and Community health services. We have already undertaken extensive market engagement have submitted our full business case.

There is extensive interest nationally in this first of type opportunity and we are excited to offer this role to an experienced Senior Project Manager to support us in delivering to the programme.

Having experience with working alongside Oracle Health is critical to this role.

Main duties of the job

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSEFT) provides services to the residents of Southend, Basildon, and Chelmsford. It was formed in April 2020 by the merger of Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust, and Basildon & Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) provides community health, mental health and learning disability services to support more 3.2 million people living across Bedfordshire, Essex, and Suffolk.

EPUT was formed on 1 April 2017 following the merger of North Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (NEP) and South Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (SEPT).

Job responsibilities

Development of necessary documents to start projects up such as Project Initiation Document, detailed requirements specifications etc.

Ensure there is sound project & programme governance and assurance by identifying, appraising, mitigating and managing risks and issues

Produce clear visual materials, project documentation, and data for use in reports, local briefings, workshops and meetings for both internal and external presentations

To liaise with operational staff to identify any impacts that the implementation may have on operational services

  • Write and present regular highlight/exception reports, project documentation, information and presentations in project progress as required to the Project Board(s), and the Trust.

  • To set up and lead project boards and teams as required.
  • To ensure that all project documentation is produced, communicated and maintained to demonstrate compliance with the PRINCE2 project management methodology
  • Produce robust project plans and monitor the project against cost and time tolerances.
Person Specification
Knowledge and experience
  • Significant experience delivering projects in the NHS
  • Project management experience including the development and management of project documentation.
  • Previous experience working with Oracle Health
Skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle technical, highly complex, sensitive or contentious information and present this to a variety of audiences where significant barriers to acceptance may exist
  • Ability to manipulate data essential for reporting into Programme Boards including recommendations on the most appropriate course of action
