Job summary

Thorn Baker Construction is seeking a Cleaning Manager for a large site in Northampton. This hands-on role offers a £39,000 basic salary and a permanent, full-time position with standard hours from 8:00am to 5:00pm, plus ownership of site standards and performance.

You will lead a sizeable cleaning team, drive standards, manage client relationships and work closely with the wider management team to ensure smooth operation and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Cleaning Manager, Cleaning Supervisor, Contract Manager or Site Manager is essential.
• Experience managing large cleaning teams and driving standards.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety and cleaning standards.
• Strong leadership, people management and communication skills.
• Ability to plan rotas, monitor KPIs and ensure service delivery quality.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day cleaning operations across the site.
• Lead, motivate and manage a large cleaning team.
• Plan staffing rotas and ensure appropriate coverage.
• Perform regular quality checks and site inspections.
• Maintain high cleaning and presentation standards.
• Manage client relationships and respond to issues promptly.
• Monitor performance against KPIs and service standards.
• Support recruitment, training and onboarding of staff.
