Job summary

Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is seeking a Junior Fundraiser to support regional fundraising activities and community engagement across multiple UK regions. You will help run events and campaigns, building strong relationships with supporters and volunteers to raise vital funds for humanitarian work.

The role requires excellent communication, high attention to detail and the ability to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends.

Islamic Relief UK (IRUK) is actively recruiting for the position of Junior Fundraiser to be based across one of the following regions: Glasgow, Manchester, Bradford, Leicester, Birmingham or East London.

Job Purpose:

The Junior Fundraiser will play a key role in supporting regional fundraising activities and community engagement initiatives, helping to raise vital funds that support Islamic Relief's humanitarian work around the world. Working closely with supporters, volunteers and local communities, the postholder will assist with events, campaigns and fundraising activities, whilst building positive relationships that help strengthen Islamic Relief's presence and impact across the region.

The successful candidate must have:

• Experience of working in a similar role or within a customer-focused environment.


• Experience of delivering an effective service in support of organisational objectives.


• Proven experience of successfully working under pressure, with multiple demands and in a busy environment.


• Knowledge and understanding of the local region and community.


• Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to coordinate activities and events whilst managing competing priorities.


• The ability to work effectively as part of a team and build strong working relationships with colleagues, supporters and volunteers.


• Excellent communication skills, including speaking, presenting, listening and written communication.


• High standards of numeracy with the ability to accurately record financial information and work within established procedures and regulations.


• The ability to represent Islamic Relief professionally in a wide range of situations.


• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
