Job description

We are seeking multiple tutors within the Norfolk area to work with young people aged between 5-16 – is this something you would be interested in?

Here at TP Tutors, we work closely with an array of local authorities across the country, providing young people with tuition due to being out of mainstream education for various reasons, such as SEN needs, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, Learning Difficulties, and Lower Learning Levels. Our aim is to provide high quality, impactful 1:1 tuition for these young people!

Job Description:

As a Tutor, you will be responsible for providing academic support and guidance to young people in a 1:1 setting up to a 1:6 setting. Your duties will include preparing and delivering lessons both face-to-face and online, depending on your preference. You will assess students, track progress, identify gaps in their learning, and adapt and implement a variety of teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.

Job Duties:
  • Developing personalised learning strategies for students who are out of mainstream education.
  • Delivering engaging and interactive lessons in line with the students' individual education plans.
  • Assessing students' progress and adjusting teaching techniques accordingly.
  • Collaborating with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
  • Completing a detailed report after each session, outlining learning objectives, engagement, and comprehension.
Required Qualifications:
  • Have QTS or be a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or have SEN/SEMH experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to tailor teaching methods to suit individual learning styles.
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
  • A relevant degree in Education or a related field.
  • Experience working with students with SEN/SEMH.
  • Knowledge of different learning disabilities and strategies to support them.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in creating and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Training in specific interventions such as Makaton or TEACCH.
Benefits of working with Teaching Personnel:
  • We are a national company, so you will have access to an increased volume of tuition work. Once registered, you will have a dedicated consultant who will explain how tuition works and how your journey will look with TP Tutors.
  • Face-to-face and online tuition options available to suit your availability, with tuition available during the school day or after school.
  • Referrals to support primary, secondary, and post-16 aged students with subject-specific areas. Children may be in a mainstream setting, special educational needs, alternate provision setting, or without a school place and fall under the local authority awaiting a suitable school place.
  • Bespoke online reporting platform - 24/7 access to enable you to log immediate attendance details, feedback, and assessments.
  • Online classroom platform to enable you to deliver online tuition to students in a virtual environment. This platform offers all the tools you will require to deliver online tuition and is recorded for safeguarding and revision purposes.
  • Hourly rate of £25-£30, paid weekly.
  • Access to free safeguarding and CPD courses, as well as free access to assessment tools and resources.
