If you are a first-level registered nurse or a registered pharmacist who thrives working in a community setting, assessing, and supporting people with their healthcare issues, then this Independent Prescriber role might be just the one for you.
You will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team and lead on initiating and reviewing prescribing for a wide range of clients with substance misuse issues, working within our clear formulary and your own competencies. Your diary will be structured with 45-minute 3-way clinic appointments with our recovery workers and clients, structured admin time (to support documenting your diagnosis and recommendations effectively and inform our prescribing admin team to manage the prescription process), and clinical discussion time programmed in.
You will be committed to taking a positive, holistic, and empowering approach to your work with service users, enabling them to build their own recovery capital and supporting them to move into long-term sustained recovery. This will be achieved by delivering appropriate clinical interventions, utilising a range of approaches, and working effectively with partner agencies.
