Role Summary
The post holder will be required to work autonomously as well as part of the immediate MDT and larger teams participating in the Uro-Oncology pathway.
You will give advice, instigate investigations, and implement patient care as appropriate to manage the patient, supporting the patients and their loved ones throughout the pathway.
You will provide essential communication to improve patient experience and quality of care, reducing lengths of stay and avoiding unnecessary hospital admissions.
You will support the existing Uro-Oncology MDT in the planning and development of the future service in accordance with the Trust's policies and procedures, utilizing the most effective resources.
Alongside the Uro-Oncology MDT, you will provide specialist advice and education to health professionals regarding patient symptoms or side effects, acute presentations related to the treatment or cancer to improve outcomes and quality of life.

The Oncology and Haematology services have been successful in gaining significant financial investment, increasing the head count by additional posts across the multidisciplinary team. This investment recognizes the increase in activity and provides opportunities across the workforce.
The Uro-Oncology Team is looking for a Consultant Nurse / AHP to join this dynamic team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dynamic, enthusiastic, and patient-focused with recent Uro-Oncology experience, to help maintain high-quality care for referred patients. There will be an opportunity within months to re-evaluate this role against national profiles for non-medical consultant roles.
The team is particularly interested in candidates with experience in bladder and renal cancers.
As a Non-Medical Consultant, you will develop the non-medical workforce and ensure holistic patient assessments, providing supportive care to enhance cancer experience and quality of life.
You will be an integrated member of the multidisciplinary team, supporting patients throughout their oncological pathway, working both within the team and autonomously, managing your caseload effectively.

Salary: The advertised salary reflects the Agenda for Change 5/6 rates, including a pay award to be implemented later this year. If you join before the implementation, the pay award will be backdated to your start date. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 4/5 pay bands (NHS Employers).
