A regional health care board in Preston seeks a Non-executive Member to chair the Audit Committee. The ideal candidate will have expertise in finance and audit, along with a strong understanding of governance within the NHS. This role also requires acting as the Conflicts of Interest Guardian. Salary ranges from £13,000 to £16,000 per year, dependent on experience and commitment.

Overview

Non-executive Member (Chair of Audit Committee) for NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB). The successful candidate will chair the Audit Committee and be appointed as the ICB's Conflicts of Interest Guardian.

The closing date is 10 October 2025.

Main duties of the job

As chair of the Audit Committee, you will have the qualifications, expertise or experience to express credible opinions on finance and audit matters and possess a strong background in Audit and Governance, an appreciation of public or private sector Audit and Governance arrangements, and ideally prior experience of a non-executive in the NHS.

Fit and proper person

This post is also subject to NHS England's Fit and Proper Person Test Framework and, as such, background checks will be undertaken for the successful candidate and a self-attestation form will be required at that stage.
