Lincolnshire FA is proud to open applications for a Non-Executive Independent Director for Marketing & Communications- a crucial voluntary role helping us deliver on our ambitious strategy to make football accessible, inclusive, and impactful across our communities.

As the governing body of football in Lincolnshire, we are home to over2,000 teams, 35,000 players, and 5,000 volunteers. Our mission is to provide high-quality, inclusive football experiences that unite and inspire every corner of our county. We’re looking for a passionate, experienced communications leader to help shape our story, build our brand, and strengthen our connection to the football community.

Our 2024–28 strategy –One Lincolnshire Community, united and inspired by the power of football– is already making a real difference. But we know there’s more work to do. We’ve recently undergone a major governance restructure and welcomed a diverse range of independent directors to the Board – and now, we’re seeking someone with the energy, creativity, and insight to lead our Marketing & Communications efforts at a strategic level.

About the Role

AsNon-Executive Director (Marketing & Communications), you will play a key role in shaping our strategic direction. You’ll work closely with the Board, CEO and our Partnerships & Engagement team to:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a robust and effective Marketing & Communications Strategy
  • Oversee the Association’s brand, communications channels, and digital media strategy
  • Provide guidance to staff and ensure high standards of content, customer engagement and storytelling
  • Support our commercial and stakeholder relationships through smart marketing and CRM approaches
  • Be a passionate advocate for the game across Lincolnshire and beyond

This is avoluntary role, with expenses covered. Our Board typically meets quarterly (with the option for virtual attendance), and there will be additional involvement in Association events and ongoing strategic conversations with the Executive Team.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking someone who brings:

  • Senior-level experience in Marketing, PR, Digital Communications or related fields
  • A track record of inclusive leadership and stakeholder engagement
  • Excellent strategic thinking and governance awareness
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • A passion for football, people, and community

Experience in sport is welcome but not essential – what matters most is your ability to make an impact and your alignment with our values.
