Job description

Background and Role Focus

East Coast Community Healthcare CIC (ECCH) is a successful and growing staff-owned social enterprise delivering community healthcare across Norfolk and Suffolk. With a CQC rating of Good and ambitious plans for the future, we are committed to delivering outstanding care and strengthening our role as a provider, partner, and employer of choice.

We are now seeking a Non-Executive Director (NED) to join our Board and take on the portfolio lead for Quality. This is a key leadership role, supporting the strategic development of ECCH, providing robust challenge and assurance, and shaping our approach to clinical quality, safety, and patient experience across the organisation.

The appointed NED will Chair our Quality Committee and act as the Board Lead for Quality. We are particularly seeking someone with a healthcare background, ideally with experience in clinical quality, preferably within community care services. Your insight will be crucial in ensuring safe, effective, and continuously improving care.

What Skills Do We Need?

  • Board-level experience, ideally within a health or care setting
  • Strong understanding of clinical quality, governance, and risk
  • Experience or interest in community or primary care services
  • Ability to provide independent challenge and strategic oversight
  • Commitment to promoting staff, patient, and community voice

What Can You Bring?

As a staff-owned organisation, we value the voice and involvement of our employees in shaping our direction. You should be able to demonstrate how you live our values of Compassion, Action, Respect, and Everyone (CARE) and support a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and continuous learning.

We actively welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences to ensure our Board reflects the communities we serve.

What Can We Offer You?

In addition to the remuneration package, this is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the health and wellbeing of local communities. You'll work with a forward-thinking Board and leadership team and have opportunities for ongoing personal and professional development.

While flexible and remote working are supported, we also value Board visibility across our services. Our teams welcome visits and engagement from leadership to share insights and celebrate successes.

If you're passionate about community healthcare and have the skills to shape and oversee quality at Board level, we'd love to hear from you.
