Job description

We are seeking two outstanding individuals to join our Board as Non-Executive Directors from 1st September 2025.

The successful candidates must embody a strong commitment to the NHS and share the values of our Partner Trusts.

We are looking for candidates with specific skills for each role:

  1. Medical Specialist: Relevant to BSPS, ideally as a Clinical Pathologist, but other specialties such as a GP will also be considered.
  2. Finance Specialist: Current knowledge of best practices in corporate accounting and audit. Prior experience in chairing Board committees is preferred.

Berkshire and Surrey Pathology Services (BSPS) is one of the largest NHS pathology networks in the county. It is a contractual joint venture between five NHS Foundation Trusts, serving a population of 3.2 million, processing over 50 million tests annually, employing 1,600 staff, with costs around £150 million.

The five partner Trusts are: Ashford and St. Peters Hospitals NHS FT, Frimley Health NHS FT, Royal Berkshire NHS FT, Royal Surrey NHS FT, and Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
