As a member of the Holding Company board, this Non-Executive will provide independent, strategic oversight and critical support to the executive team. It is a part-time position, working approximately 8 days per year.
We are a well-established metal finishing company with an annual turnover of approximately £5 million, known for delivering high-quality, precision-engineering products. With a strong reputation and stable client base, we are now entering a transformative phase of growth. Our strategic priority is to diversify into new sectors, strengthen our position within B2B supply chains, and expand our customer portfolio.
This role is particularly suited to a commercial leader with experience in turnaround situations, and a track record of scaling manufacturing or industrial businesses, particularly through diversification and entry into new sectors or supply chains.
You will constructively challenge the status quo, provide insights into market trends and opportunities, and offer strategic input on how to evolve the company's commercial offering and client base. Advising and challenging the interim Commercial Director in developing growth and diversification strategies, you will leverage your knowledge and networks to assist in entering new verticals such as aerospace, defence, renewables, automotive, or medical.
You will uphold sound governance practices, contribute to key decision-making, and help manage risk during growth initiatives. Acting as a sounding board and mentor to the executive team, providing impartial prospecting and constructive challenge. You will attend quarterly board meetings and provide ongoing input as required on commercial and strategic matters.
