We are seeking two passionate and experienced professionals to add value to our progressive and dynamic Board as Non-Executive Directors. We are looking for individuals with expertise and experience in the following sectors:
This role is integral to our organisation and will work collaboratively with the Trust's Non-Executive Directors, Chair, and CEO to ensure high-quality services for our patients and a culture of continuous improvement.
Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is led by a Board of Directors responsible for providing leadership, setting strategic direction, and ensuring management capacity and capability within a framework of prudent controls.
As a Non-Executive Director, you will monitor and manage performance, safeguard values, and ensure the organisation meets its obligations to stakeholders.
Non-Executive Directors are accountable to the Chairman of the Trust, who also chairs the Council of Governors. The Council has specific responsibilities, including the appointment of NEDs.
In late summer 2024, GWH, RUH, and Salisbury NHS Foundation Trusts will form a group to enhance collaboration, improve quality and access, and transform services for the future.
The Great Western Hospital serves Swindon and surrounding areas with a catchment population of 233,000. It offers emergency care, elective surgery, paediatrics, maternity, outpatient services, diagnostics, and end-of-life care. Recently, it opened a new Emergency Department and Children's Emergency Unit.
