Established in 2014, Primary Healthcare Darlington (PHD) is the local GP Federation serving 11 GP practices and an ever-growing population of registered patients across Darlington, County Durham. We work closely with the Darlington Primary Care Network, which commissions many of the services and projects we deliver for the town. Our strong partnerships extend to Darlington Borough Council, local NHS Foundation Trusts, and we have the full support and backing of the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB).
Operating from dedicated premises near Darlington Memorial Hospital, PHD provides a wide range of NHS, Public Health, and private medical services to meet the diverse needs of our community.

We are entering an exciting new phase of development and are strengthening ourBoard with the appointment of four new Non-Executive Directors (NEDs).The Role of a NED
NEDs provide independent oversight and constructive challenge, supporting the Board in making sound decisions and ensuring high standards of governance.
Offer independent scrutiny, advice and challenge to the Executive.
Bring external perspective that enhances debate and decision-making.
Ensure services are delivered safely, effectively and in line with our values.
Contribute to financial sustainability and long-term strategy.
Act as an ambassador for PHD with member practices and partners.
Commitment: Approx. 1 day per month (meetings usually in Darlington).
Term: 3 years.
Remuneration: £650 per month (£7,800 per year) plus expenses.
