Job description

The multi-award winning University of Chester was crowned Business School of the Year in November 2024 by Times Higher Education and for the second year running University of the Year in the North West by the WhatUni Student Choice Awards. Welcoming students from across the UK and 123 countries worldwide at the heart of the University’s vision is an unwavering commitment to an outstanding student learning experience, excellent teaching, and actively growing research and enterprise.

This is a critical point in the University’s evolution as it seeks to deliver its revised Citizen Student Strategy 2024- 30. This includes exciting plans for a new academic framework and a comprehensive estates masterplan. In expanding its professional programmes, The Chester Medical School has recently welcomed its first cohort of graduate entry medical students , and the University has ambitious plans for a dynamic, place-shaping, partnership agenda.

Following the appointment of a new Chair, the University is now seeking to secure a number of new Council Members (non-executive Board Governors). The University is looking for exceptional individuals, with the intellectual capacity, commercial acumen, strategic expertise, and external networks to ensure that the University achieves its ambitions and continues to expand its reach, reputation, impact, and profile.
