Position: Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Engineer

Location: United Kingdom

Permanent role

Job Summary:

We are seeking skilled NDT Engineers with experience in plant component inspections. The ideal candidates will hold PCN Level 2D certification and have experience in inspecting steam and water pressure parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct site visits to perform plant inspections.
  2. Coordinate and supervise inspection activities, particularly during plant outages.
  3. Produce high-quality inspection reports.
  4. Review and authorize inspection reports as per qualifications and experience.
  5. Estimate and manage project costs effectively.
  6. Maintain knowledge of standards, legislation, best practices, and relevant testing equipment and software.
  7. Travel within the UK and internationally as required.

Requirements:

  1. PCN Level 2D certification in Magnetic Particle Testing, Penetrant Testing, and Ultrasonic Testing of welds.
  2. Additional certifications in Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT), Time-of-Flight Diffraction (TOFD), or PCN Level 3 in any method are advantageous.
  3. Experience inspecting plant components in new and degraded conditions.
  4. Understanding of damage/degradation mechanisms affecting inspected components.
  5. Experience in ultrasonic testing of branch connections (desirable).
  6. Experience working on plant outages, with a proven track record in coordination and supervision.
  7. NEBOSH General Certificate and project management experience (preferred).
