Job Description

  • Site visits to carry out plant inspections.
  • Coordinating / supervising inspection activities on outages (depending on qualifications and experience).
  • Producing high-quality inspection reports.
  • Reviewing and authorising inspection reports (depending on qualifications and experience).
  • Estimating and managing project costs.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of standards, legislation, good practice, methods, and use of appropriate equipment and software.

What we expect of you?

Experience:

  • Good practical experience in the inspection of a range of plant components, especially steam and water pressure parts (both in new/as-installed condition and after in-service degradation).
  • An understanding of damage/degradation mechanisms affecting inspected components.

It would also be advantageous to have:

  • Experience in ultrasonic testing of branch connections.
  • Experience working on plant outages, including a proven track record in coordinating/supervising outage inspection activities and liaising with clients and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum PCN Level 2D certification in magnetic particle testing, penetrant testing, and ultrasonic testing of welds.
  • Preferred qualifications include:
  • PCN Level 2 in phased array ultrasonic testing and/or TOFD.
  • PCN Level 3 certification in any testing method.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate.
