Job summary

Buchanan, a leading international law firm in London, is seeking a junior Associate for its Financial Services Regulatory practice. The role centers on non-contentious regulatory work advising major banks and asset managers, with exposure to cross-border matters within an international platform.

We welcome candidates with 1–3 PQE and substantive UK regulatory experience, who are keen to develop a specialised practice.

Qualifications

• Strong regulatory and financial services knowledge.
• Excellent drafting and analytical skills.
• Experience advising financial institutions or regulated businesses.
• Ability to communicate with clients and internal stakeholders clearly.
• Commitment to a long-term career in financial services regulatory work.
• Confident handling matters and developing client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Advise financial institutions and regulated entities on UK regulatory requirements.
• Support governance, conduct, authorisation and compliance matters for clients.
• Assist with regulatory aspects of transactions, products and structures.
• Monitor regulatory developments and translate impact for clients.
• Draft advice, policies, submissions and client communications.
• Work on cross-border matters with the firm’s international network.
• Build direct client relationships and take on increasing responsibility.
