Job summary

UCB is seeking a Principal Scientist, Non-Clinical PKPD, to join the Clinical Development Sciences Group at our R&D site in Slough, UK, and Windlesham, Surrey. You will shape the quantitative PKPD strategy across target identification to lifecycle management, collaborating with Bioanalysis, Clinical Pharmacology and Translational Medicine.

This role requires a PhD with strong PKPD expertise, leadership, and experience building complex models to inform decision-making in a matrix environment,

Qualifications

• PhD in pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics, systems biology or related field.
• Strong understanding of pharmacology and drug mechanisms.
• Expertise in PKPD methods and concepts for drug discovery and development.
• Experience leading non-clinical PKPD strategies from discovery to clinic.
• Proven leadership in a matrix environment with diverse internal stakeholders.
• Experience using modelling and simulation packages.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive the nonclinical PKPD strategy for projects.
• Translate in vitro and in vivo data to predict efficacy and safety in patients.
• Build PKPD models to test hypotheses and inform decisions.
• Represent PKPD interests internally and externally to enhance scientific reputation.
• Lead multifunctional collaborations to advance drug candidates.
