Job Title: NOC Architect / NOC SME - Network Operations Centre

Location: Remote

Job Type: Contract (Inside IR35) - 3 months initially w/ likely extensions

Rate: £- p/day

Job Description:

We are seeking a Global Network Operations Centre (NOC) Architect/SME with experience in Financial Services.

Responsibilities:
  1. Architecture Design: Design and develop the overall architecture of the GNOC, including network topology, hardware, software, security components, and personnel skills assessment, roles, and training requirements.
  2. Technology Selection: Evaluate and recommend suitable technologies and tools for network monitoring, management, and automation within the GNOC.
  3. Infrastructure Planning: Design and plan the physical infrastructure of the GNOC, including space, power, cooling, and network connectivity.
  4. Security Implementation: Ensure the security of the GNOC infrastructure and data, including access controls, intrusion detection, and incident response.
  5. Automation & Orchestration: Implement automation and orchestration solutions to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and reduce manual effort.
  6. Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of the GNOC infrastructure and network services.
  7. Incident Management: Develop and implement incident management processes for the GNOC, ensuring timely and effective resolution of network issues.
  8. Documentation & Standards: Create and maintain documentation for the GNOC architecture, procedures, and standards.
  9. Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, including security, systems, and applications, to ensure seamless integration and support.
  10. Skills and Expertise: Deep understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies such as routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and WAN technologies. Experience with incident management frameworks like ITIL and incident response processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
