Job description

My client, a well-run Blue Chip Building Contractor, is looking for a Site Manager to work on a framework of refurbishment and new build projects ranging from 1 million to 3 million. The sectors involved include aviation, education, defence, NHS, etc.

The successful Site Manager will be responsible for the delivery of the project, must be an effective communicator, and capable of successfully leading a small team of Site Managers. Please note, my client has secured 7 years of work in the local area.

The ideal candidate must have the following:

  • Experience managing projects up to 5 million
  • Strong employment record with a background in Top Tier or Second Tier Contractors
  • Proven client-facing experience
  • Exceptional project leadership skills and soft skills
  • Strong health and safety management awareness
  • Technical and financial acumen

Your responsibilities will include controlling all aspects of H&S on site, programming work schedules, monitoring progress, ensuring compliance with regulations and budget constraints. You will manage site inductions, method statements, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and permits to work. Additionally, you will handle logistics planning, manage plant and labour resources, and conduct progress meetings with the site team and subcontractors. Previous exposure to government-funded construction projects is preferred.
