A healthcare service provider in Northallerton is seeking a dynamic Deputy Manager to oversee the Supported Accommodation service for vulnerable young people. This role involves support in management duties, ensuring high-quality service delivery. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Deputy Manager to support the Supported Accommodation Registered Service Manager in overseeing/managing service delivery of our Young Peoples Supported Accommodation Service across North Yorkshire, including the provision of No Wrong Door Supported Accommodation. This role is crucial in ensuring the delivery of high-quality supported accommodation services to vulnerable young people 16-18 and supporting them to develop their life skills and prepare for adult life.
Supporting the Registered Service Manager in the day-to-day management of the service, including:
Day to day operational management of the service
Regulatory compliance, quality assurance and practice monitoring
Resource management staffing, budget, and supported accommodation properties
Ensuring accommodation standards are maintained
Management support to a multi-disciplinary team
Oversee the delivery of support to young people in four key areas:
Emergency Safe Stay Provision emergency bed for max 4 consecutive nights
Outreach support to Young People in our care/care experienced young people at risk of tenancy accommodation breakdown
As Deputy manager, you will need
Knowledge on relevant legislation, regulations, and quality standards for Supported Accommodation
Experience working in residential care or supported accommodation settings as a senior worker or at management level.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to be highly organised and be resilient and flexible in your work practice.
The ability to promote a positive and supportive culture and environment based on the models of practice core offers of both the Supported Accommodation service and No Wrong Door and
To be able to work collaboratively with other professionals or agencies.
Through the NWD Alternative provisions element of this post, you may at times also support NWD alternative provisions e.g., bespoke placements or offer management support to NWD hubs if requested by a Head of Service or Group Manager. This post will also take part in the No Wrong Door Management stand-by rota providing out of hours support to EDT, No Wrong Door. Supported Accommodation.

The post holder will drive forward delivery of the No WrongDoor and Supported Accommodation Services
Core Offers. No Wrong Door provision includes aresidential service for complex young people, emergency
residential placements, out of hours Edge of Care, ActivityServices, Supported Accommodation and Bespoke
placement arrangements. Supported Accommodation Serviceincludes accommodation provision for NWD and
UASC young people and an emergency Safe Stay bed. The postmust ensure staff provide all aspects of care
and support needs and interventions, utilising clinicalspecialist input in line with the young peoples Core
Assessments, Care Plans or Pathway Plans.
Key characteristic requirements of this post are effectivemanagement skills, effective deployment of a significant staff group,flexibility, commitment, building effective relationships, resilience,persistence and the ability to progress plans.
The post requires an enhanced DBS.
This role involves spoken communications so a confident useof English language is required.
The core purpose of this job is to be responsible for theprovision of a quality service area as directed by the
Registered Manager or Registered Service Manager (AP/SA).This includes management oversight for work
with young people and families on the edge of care, in careand leaving care including post 18 where required.
This role proactively provides support and supervision to amulti-disciplinary team dedicated to delivering the support and interventionsto complex young people. The post holder will be involved in the qualityassurance of services, systems and delivery and manage significant resourcesincluding deployment of staff across the NWDand Supported Accommodationservices.
Deputise for the Registered Manager/Registered ServiceManager in his/her absence (including registration with Ofsted should this bebeyond 28 days).
Ensure services are effective to keep young people safe intheir own community not doing so has a very highrisk financial impact on theLocal Authority and Poor outcome impact on young peoples long-term outcomes.
This post will provide dedicated support to a keyportfolio area as follows:
Deputy Manager (Residential) will have key responsibilityfor the residential home including compliance with national guidance, standardsand regulations.
Deputy Manager (Alternative Provisions/Signs of Safety) willhave key responsibility for placements outside of the residential home and bethe dedicated safeguarding lead within the hub area.
Deputy Manager (Alternative Provisions/SupportedAccommodation) will have key responsibility for NWD/UASC/Emergency supportedaccommodation placements, be the dedicated safeguarding lead within SupportedAccommodation and lead on outreach provision to young people known toNWD/Childrens Social Care at risk of homelessness/tenancy breakdown.
All deputy manager posts provide cover for each other andparticipate in an out-of-hours standby rota which requires dynamic and complexdecision making.
Job purpose

Operational Management:
To be responsible, along with the Registered Manager(residential lead and AP/SOS) or Registered Service Manager (AP/SA), fordelivery of a range of dynamic care/Support placements across a service areafor adolescents with complex and challenging behaviour and Unaccompanied AsylumSeeking Children (AP/SA Deputy)
Drive a defined culture and intervention practice model andpromote a solution focussed and restorative approach across practice.
Lead and manage a significant staff team and deployaccording to the complex requirements of the service.
Manage complex plans and resources to reduce risk andmaintain young people safely within their family and community.
Manage effective partnership working through a strategicoutward facing role whilst overseeing a broad range of operational services andsupport.
Manage high levels of complex risk within a 24hr environmentincluding being a lead decision maker on key issues.
Responsible for a significant budget.
Responsible for the decision to accept a child in to careour supported accommodation out of hours.
Manage a multi-agency team including supervision, direction,and management of embedded clinical specialist roles
Resource management:
Provide leadership, guidance and management to the service.
Report malpractice, or evidence which may suggest it, to theline manager or other appropriate person by the whistle blowing procedure
Be aware of best value and ensure prudent resourcemanagement including decision making for complex expenditure.
Be involved in the recruitment, monitoring, appraisal anddisciplinary of staff as necessary.
Be involved in leading the development of the learning anddevelopment plan for the hub, including induction and on-going training, whilstauditing and managing training compliance

Manage the auditing, collation and analysis of informationto provide regular reports as required.
Safeguarding:
Be committed to safeguarding; promote the welfare ofchildren, young people and adults and raise concerns as appropriate.
Provide additional support and comfort to young people andstaff under stress and understand the impact of GDPR and confidentialityissues.
Give young people the opportunity to participate indecisions affecting them, as appropriate to their age and ability and takingtheir wishes and feelings into account.
Ensure that young people are monitored and protected usingagreed approaches and utilise Signs of Safety as the key assessment and childprotection approach to practice.
Provide out of hours decision making regarding the supportof complex young people, safeguarding issues and agreement for whether childrenand young people need to become looked after out of hours.
Chair, when required, multi-agency RAISE (Risk AnalysisIntervention Solutions Evaluation) meetings to keep our most complex youngpeople safe from exploitation.
