Job description

Job Opportunity for PhD Students: Exam Script Scanning Support

We are offering our PhD students the opportunity to undertake paid work throughout the year on an ad hoc basis to support the Exam Script Scanning process. This role involves assisting with the management and distribution of exam scripts, which are made available to students after results are released, for purposes such as resit preparation, reviewing mark breakdowns, and understanding comments for improvement.

The process is managed via an online request system, and tasks include:

  1. Managing the mailbox for student queries and requests for scans.
  2. Updating the tracking system as requests are processed.
  3. Locating and scanning both online and physical exam scripts.
  4. Sending scripts to students and addressing any related queries.
  5. Liaising with departmental staff for student requests to meet with academics or other inquiries.

This role may be busier during the summer and end-of-assessment periods, but ongoing management of email queries is expected throughout the year. The scripts are located at the Strand Campus and Franklin Wilkins Building (FWB) at Waterloo Campus, so applicants must be able to travel between sites as needed.

Successful applicants will be invited to an introductory briefing session.

Qualifications

Must be a current PhD student at King's College.

Skills

No prior experience is required. Essential skills include attention to detail, good organizational abilities, and willingness to travel between the Strand and Waterloo campuses.
