Job summary

Arnold Clark in Liverpool is recruiting a Nightshift Technician to keep our prep centre running smoothly. You’ll safely prepare customers’ cars for the road, care about every detail and take pride in meticulous work.

You’ll work nights (Mon–Thu 7.30pm–7am) and gain exposure to a wide range of makes and models, applying the latest vehicle technology while earning a base salary of £45,000 with a potential £9,000 bonus every three years and overtime paid at time and a half.

Qualifications

• A certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3 is essential.
• Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively on your own or in a busy team.
• Good communication and attention to detail required.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards.
• Inspecting engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues with diagnostic equipment.
• Repairing or replacing faulty parts and resolving defects.
• Carrying out DVSA vehicle testing (if authorised).
• Road testing vehicles after repairs.
• Maintaining equipment and ensuring tools are in good condition.
• Following checklists and completing documentation to standard.

Day-to-day duties

• Carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards

• Completing all documentation to the required standard

Essential Skills

• A certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3 and solid work experience in the automotive industry
• The ability to work in a competent and efficient manner on your own or part of a busy team
• Strong communication skills
• Good attention to detail
• The ability to carry out work to high standards to deadlines
• A proactive and enthusiastic approach
• The ability to accurately follow written and spoken instructions
• A full driving licence
