Job summary

Arnold Clark Group in Glasgow is recruiting experienced Nightshift Mechanics to support our prep centre. You will service, repair and prepare vehicles for the road, diagnose issues with diagnostic equipment, and ensure high standards while working within a capable team.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3.
• Ability to work independently or in a busy team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards.
• Diagnose issues using computer-based diagnostic equipment.
• Repair or replace faulty parts and resolve defects.
• Perform DVSA vehicle testing (if authorised).
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs.
• Maintain equipment and keep tools in good condition.
• Follow checklists and complete documentation to required standard.

We’re looking for experienced Nightshift Mechanics to join our growing team.

Full time: Monday – Thursday 7.30pm – 7am

Day-to-day duties

• Carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards
• Inspecting vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately, using computer-based diagnostic equipment
• Repairing or replacing broken/defective parts and resolving defects
• Carrying out DVSA vehicle testing (if authorised)
• Road testing vehicles to check repairs
• Maintaining equipment and making sure tools are in good condition
• Following checklists to ensure all procedures are completed
• Completing all documentation to the required standard

Essential skills

• A certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3 and solid work experience in the automotive industry
• The ability to work in a competent and efficient manner on your own or part of a busy team
• Strong communication skills
• Good attention to detail
• The ability to carry out work to high standards to deadlines
• A proactive and enthusiastic approach
• The ability to accurately follow written and spoken instructionsA full driving licence
