Job summary

Gap Technical Ltd is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for ad-hoc contract work in the Gloucester area. The role offers 4on4off nights with a pay rate of £40.00 per hour (Outside IR35).

You will respond to breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance, and work with production teams to minimise downtime. Ideal candidates have a time-served engineering apprenticeship and experience in FMCG or packaging environments, including fault-finding on 3-phase electrical systems, drives, PLC I/O, and

Qualifications

• Time-served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Experience in FMCG/Packaging environments is advantageous.
• Experience fault-finding on electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and carry out planned preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults efficiently.
• Work closely with production and operations teams to minimise downtime.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis to improve machine reliability and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain machinery to a high engineering standard, ensuring maximum operational efficiency.
