Job summary

Mactech Energy Group is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor for night shifts on construction sites in Somerset. You will implement, monitor and continuously improve safety management across MDTs, liaising with clients and contractors to uphold CDM and HSE standards.

The role requires 3–5 years in a regulated environment, with strong communication and risk-analysis skills. Night shifts, long-term site-based contract, and opportunities to influence safety culture are included.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills with internal stakeholders and the construction industry.
• Results-focused with a team-centred approach.
• Highly skilled in analysis of technically demanding information and risk.
• Ability to present complex data clearly and actionable.
• Engaging others with technical issues and maintaining interest.
• Pragmatic and practical in addressing technical issues.
• Good knowledge of CDM Regulations and HSE standards.
• Experience coordinating between contractors on safety interfaces.
• 3–5 years HSE experience in complex/high-regulation environments.
• Experience in construction sequencing or phase.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety guidance to MDTs and clients with a risk-based approach.
• Monitor safety performance via inspections and audits.
• Maintain reporting lines to HPC Lead H&S Advisor and MDT Lead.
• Develop relationships with internal stakeholders and external contractors.
• Promote and reinforce safety standards across projects.
