We are recruiting to join our Transport Team at our Booker Retail Partner site. As a Transport Team Manager, you will support the site management team in the efficient, safe, legal, and cost-effective management of transport operations.
The objective of the role is to ensure that our large, fast-moving transport operation runs smoothly and efficiently by achieving optimum service levels across all contracts while working to specific KPIs.
Reporting to the Transport Operations Manager, you will work to achieve operational KPIs and service agreements within tight deadlines and drive improvements by engaging the team and promoting a positive culture.
You will manage vehicle breakdowns, ensuring minimal impact to the retailer. You will also analyze tachograph infringement reports, discuss infringements with drivers, and liaise with the warehouse operation to ensure timely loading and departure of loads.
The role also involves ensuring legal compliance with all transport legislation, particularly regarding drivers’ hours, and maintaining the fleet for servicing, MOTs, and defect management.
Applicants should have knowledge of the transport functions within the FMCG distribution industry and experience supervising depot transport operations, with a strong understanding of transport legislation.
